how to care for sweet tooth jewelry
clean with mild liquid hand soap and warm water, never hot. do not use a polishing cloth or jewelry cleaning solution on sweet tooth jewelry, and always keep jewelry away from lotion, especially sun tan lotion. in general, its best to let your lotion absorb into your skin before wearing jewelry, and never slather lotion onto the jewelry. also keep your jewelry away from chemicals such as perfume, hairspray and chlorine.
sweet tooth sterling silver satin/shiny finishes
to regain and clean the satin finish on sweet tooth sterling silver, use steel wool super fine #0000. very gently brush and rub the pendant straight in one direction a couple of times until it has the original finish. be careful to rub the chain gently and not pull. follow by cleaning with mild liquid hand soap and warm water, or in an *ultrasonic cleaner. (only if you have one, but not necessary.)
sweet tooth oxidized (blackened) sterling silver
the oil in your skin may cause your jewelry to become blacker, so to brighten and bring it back to its original finish, use steel wool super fine #0000. very gently brush and rub the pendant in one direction a couple of times until it returns to its original finish. be careful to rub the chain gently and not pull. follow by cleaning with mild liquid hand soap and warm water. do not use an *ultrasonic cleaner.
sweet tooth gold vermeil satin/shiny finishes
while our vermeil is of best quality, using the thickest coating of gold available, and always over sterling silver, it does require specific care for a longer enjoyment as well as to maintain its original appearance. clean with mild liquid hand soap and warm water, then dry with a soft cloth. always keep sweet tooth gold vermeil jewelry away from anything corrosive like salt water and chemicals such as lotion, perfume, hairspray, chlorine and others.
sweet tooth gemstones and pearls
if your sweet tooth jewelry has gemstones or pearls, feel free to contact us on specific care for your jewelry piece. note on *ultrasonic cleaners: never put pearls in an ultrasonic cleaner, and always check a gemstone guide to find out about cleaning instructions, as some gemstones can crack in an *ultrasonic cleaner.
a machine primarily used for cleaning jewelry. it converts high-frequency sound waves into electrical energy, causing the cleaning solution to bubble. not for use with delicate gemstones and other organic materials.
